Student Performance Report - APR (Part 3)

Dr. Funston presented part 3 of our state assessment student data . This report compared data to the statewide group of 26 schools across Missouri the District has used as a measuring stick for many years. She also compared data to the St. Louis Metro group of 21 schools. Festus R-VI continues to perform at high levels in all academic comparison groups.

Building Level & Fall Athletics Reports

Annual building level reports for the Festus Elementary and Festus Intermediate Schools were presented for board review. The Fall Activities/Athletic report was also presented. All reports highlighted the many wonderful things going on around the district.

Prior & New Business

Facilities Report

The sitework package for the new gymnasium and indoor practice facility is expected to be ready for bid by mid-January. Significant site preparation will be required due to the number of existing utility lines that run beneath the current practice field. A special Board meeting may be necessary in early February to review and approve the bid award.
The Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery method has continued to serve the District well. This process allows District leadership to review and discuss individual line items throughout the project, helping to manage costs proactively while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.
The Intermediate School expansion project continues to progress as planned. Second-story walls are currently being erected, while plumbing, electrical and mechanical work is underway on the first floor. The project team anticipates the roof steel to be complete by mid-January. To date, there have been 17 weather-related delay days, with no significant impact to the overall project timeline.
Planning meetings have also begun for both the new playground and the renovated playground. For student safety, both playground areas will be fully enclosed with fencing. The Intermediate School expansion remains on schedule for completion at the end of this school year.

Audit Results

The annual audit was unanimously approved. It is a month later because of the federal funding hold early in the school year that delayed auditors across the state in being able to complete their work. There were no major marks against the District.
